Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

Our refund and returns policy lasts 30 days from delivery, in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

Items should be returned in substantially the same condition as received, with all bricks, minifigures, accessories and instructions included. New or sealed items should remain unopened where possible.

We may make a reasonable deduction for items returned used, damaged, incomplete or reduced in value, where permitted by law.

If your order is faulty, damaged, incomplete or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible, as different statutory rights may apply.

Please contact Retired Bricks Ltd before making a return and provide your order number or proof of purchase.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:

A LEGO set, box, packaging, instruction manual, minifigure, or other item is returned with signs of use, handling, or damage beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the item.
A new or sealed set has been opened, unsealed, assembled, or otherwise returned in a condition that reduces its value.
An item is returned incomplete, including missing LEGO pieces, minifigures, accessories, instructions, packaging, or other components originally supplied.
An item has been damaged after delivery for reasons not caused by Retired Bricks Ltd.
A pre-owned item is returned in a materially different condition from when it was supplied.
Where a return is accepted outside the applicable returns period, Retired Bricks Ltd may, where legally permitted, reduce the refund to reflect the condition or diminished value of the returned item.

Returns & Refunds

At Retired Bricks Ltd, we want you to be happy with your purchase. We sell both new and pre-owned LEGO sets, minifigures, parts and collectibles, so the condition of an item will be clearly described on the relevant product listing.

Change-of-mind returns

We offer a 30-day returns period, beginning on the day you receive your order.

To request a return, please contact Retired Bricks Ltd within 30 days of delivery and provide your order number or other proof of purchase.

Returned items should be in the same condition in which they were received, with all pieces, minifigures, accessories, instructions and other components supplied with the order.

For items sold as new or sealed, please return them unopened and with their original seals and packaging intact wherever possible.

For items sold as pre-owned, we understand that they will not necessarily be in new condition. They should be returned in substantially the same condition in which they were supplied and with all components included in the original sale.

Customers exercising their statutory cancellation rights for an online purchase are permitted to handle goods to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. Nothing in this policy affects those rights.

Partial refunds and reductions in value

Where legally permitted, we may make a reasonable deduction from a refund if the value of an item has been reduced because it has been handled beyond what would reasonably be necessary to inspect it.

Examples may include:

A new or sealed LEGO set being opened, assembled or used.
Missing bricks, minifigures, accessories, instructions or other components.
Damage to boxes, packaging, bricks or other items occurring after delivery.
A pre-owned item being returned in a materially different condition from that in which it was supplied.

Any deduction will be reasonable and based on the actual reduction in the item’s value. Government guidance specifically recognises that online retailers can make deductions for diminished value caused by unnecessary handling.

Faulty, damaged or incorrectly described items

If an item arrives faulty, damaged, incomplete or materially different from its description, please contact us as soon as possible.

Your rights in these circumstances are separate from our change-of-mind returns policy. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, consumers may have a short-term right to reject goods that do not conform to the contract within 30 days, as well as further rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances.

If the problem is our responsibility, Retired Bricks Ltd will also bear reasonable return costs where required by law.

Return postage

For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the item unless we have agreed otherwise.

We recommend using an appropriate tracked and insured delivery service, particularly for valuable or collectible sets. Retired Bricks Ltd cannot be responsible for returned goods until they are received by us.

Where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described, we will cover reasonable return costs where required.

Refunds

Once your return has been received and inspected, we will process the applicable refund using your original payment method.

For statutory online cancellations, refunds will be made within the legally required timeframe. Where applicable, the refund will also include the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered when the order was placed. Additional amounts paid for premium or expedited delivery do not have to be refunded beyond the standard-delivery amount.

Proof of purchase

We may ask for your order number, receipt or other reasonable evidence that the item was purchased from Retired Bricks Ltd. Proof of purchase does not necessarily have to be the original receipt.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this Returns & Refunds Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or replace your statutory consumer rights.

Your statutory rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods are unaffected by this policy.

Opening packaging to inspect an item does not automatically remove your statutory cancellation rights for an online purchase. Handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the item may result in a reasonable deduction for diminished value.
